Ones to Watch: Thirty(+), flirty and thriving

Over the past decade, we’ve seen a huge shift in the way culture celebrates Valentine's Day. It used to be a day all about romantic love, prix fixe menus, and showing your loved one how much you love them. Since then, and likely further catalyzed by “Galentine’s Day” from Amy Poehler’s Parks & Rec, the scope of Valentine’s Day has expanded. It’s no longer just about romance but a celebration of love in all forms: romantic, platonic, and self-love. This mirrors the larger societal shift in the role of women who are getting married later, prioritizing platonic relationships and embracing self-love.

This month, we wanted to highlight 3 creators who are living their best single girl Carrie Bradshaw lives by being thirty, flirty, and thriving. We’re looking forward to seeing how they spend Valentine’s Day. Will they buy themselves flowers a la Grammy Award winner Miley Cyrus? Give them a follow to stay tuned to find out.

Alisha Marie

Longtime YouTuber turned podcaster turned entrepreneur, Alisha Marie is one of the “OG Lifestyle Girlies” on the platform. There she creates daily vlogs, reviews products, posts clothing hauls, and generally takes her audience along as she lives and influences in LA. But it’s not all sunshine and Amazon storefront links. In partnership with her BFF and fellow creator Remi Cruz, she hosts a podcast called “Pretty Basic”. On the pod, Alisha isn’t afraid to delve into more intimate topics like her mental health, dating, and the importance of female friendship. More recently, Alisha has been bringing her audience along to experience the business aspects of a career in influencing, after all hers is thriving!

Charlotte Palermino

Charlotte Palermino is the latest mogul to enter the stratosphere of the skincare space joining the ranks of Emily Weiss (Glossier) and Tiffany Masterson (Drunk Elephant). Her product line, Dieux Skin has developed a cult-like following among aficionados and Palermino’s social media presence is a big part of that. Utilizing her decade of media experience–she launched Cosmo Magazine’s iconic Snapchat Discover channel–she’s a case study for how founders can meaningfully show up online. For example, on her TikTok, she makes approachable and informational content about skincare and beauty as well as shares about her day-to-day with her 400k followers. Charlotte is the perfect example of the beauty of building a social-led business in your 30s with a wealth of knowledge under your belt.

Kamie Crawford

She’s beauty, she’s grace, she’s quite literally Miss Teen United States (2010). Now, at 31 Kamie is a (former?) Sports Illustratedmodel, TV personality, and podcast host amassing a loyal following with her genuine charm and unfiltered honesty. From winning over audiences on "Catfish" to keeping it real on her hit podcast "Relationsh*t," Crawford tackles everything, from the messy to the magnificent, with wit and wisdom.
