Job Description: M.T. Deco is looking for a freelance Social Media Creator to join the editorial team. The ideal candidate is skilled in crafting social content and writing for social audiences, with established experience producing for brand social platforms. They are creative, detailed, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities independently. Working under the guidance of the Head of Content, this role produces social and editorial content for the M.T. Deco brand, including for owned platforms [website, blog, newsletter], key social platforms [Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, TikTok, Twitter, YouTube], and partnerships campaigns [contributors, collaborations]. Must be obsessed with content creation and digital strategy.

We work with clients to build a digital presence that will enhance and strengthen their brand [roster includes: YouTube, HBO Max, Showtime, NBC, and Turner Classic Movies]. We are proud to create a specialized approach for each client and achieve measurable results using digital media.

This role will primarily focus on the M.T. Deco brand accounts in order to highlight the quality strategy and top-notch content that we regularly provide our clients.

Job Type: freelance [10-15 hours per week], with potential for additional hours as business continues to grow

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's (Required)

  • Brand social media experience (Required)

  • US work authorization (Required)

Responsibilities Include:

  • Handle extensive content creation [graphics + creation, photo, video], social copywriting, and thumbnail selection in order to drive engagement, SEO, reach, and click through

  • Actively manage M.T. Deco’s social media profiles, engage with fans, and grow our community

  • Build social plans around tentpole initiatives, campaigns, and partnerships

  • Brainstorm and proactively pitch new social content ideas and feel comfortable with production / execution (ex. YouTube, TikTok, IG etc.)

  • Share audience insights, fan reactions and sentiments with wider team and inform month-to-month planning

  • Work with insights /  analytics to track & analyze the performance and results of campaigns and initiatives and build social recap reports

  • Update a comprehensive cross-platform social programming grid [along with Head of Content]

  • Work with coordinator[s] on scheduling, copy-writing, publishing, and fan engagement

Detailed Qualifications:

  • At least some experience in a social media-based role

  • Solid community management experience for a brand

  • A consistent voice that is true to our brand, detailed, and a stickler for grammar

  • A deep understanding of creating content and publishing on social platforms, including Youtube, Instagram, Instagram Stories/Reels, Pinterest, TikTok, Facebook, etc.

  • High competence with Squarespace, Canva, Hootsuite, Substack

  • Ability to mine and use social data to develop content against social trends

  • A self-motivated all-rounder that is willing to be hands-on; confident making social content

  • Command of social media best practices and research tools

  • Be highly organized, detail-oriented, and a creative thinker

  • Bonus if candidate is well-versed in short-form video production [TikTok / Reels / YouTube Shorts] and / or Pinterest
